However, many farmers in the tea industry experience poverty and struggle to earn enough to meet their own basic needs or support their families. There are many factors that contribute to this including volatile market prices, inadequate value distribution and climate change, to name a few.
This paper outlines ETP’s position on living incomes in the tea industry. It describes some of the causes of low incomes and ETP’s approach to catalyse change.
